Thompson "fully dressed and speaking in complete sentences"

Interessante questo resoconto delle impressioni di Stephen Green su Pijama's media sul Presidential republican candidate debate di ieri sera.
In estrema sintesi sono le seguenti:
- Ci sono solo due candidati con delle cose da dire, Giuliani e Romney: "The few sparks that flew in last night’s Republican debate". In particolare: "You have to give this debate to Rudy on points and style";
- Cosa ci fa Ron Paul tra i Repubblicani? "When asked .. if he’d support the Republican nominee next fall, Paul answered ..: “No.” Unless the party retreats from Iraq – and Germany and Korea and Japan, too";
- McCain: "the man is deep in the Second Tier Candidate";
- Gli altri candidati "Second Tier": onesti comprimari, "Romney and Giuliani were offered more questions than any other three or four candidates ..";
- Dulcis in fundo, Fred Thompson: dopo una buona partenza (il video e l'annuncio col giusto tempismo della sua discesa in campo), "si sta comportando come fosse il candidato senza concorrenti per l'elezione a consigliere di circoscrizione".
Già preso in giro nel Saturady Night Show per il suo smozzicato accento Southern-Central e per il suo fare tra lo sfaticato e il poco interessato a tutto 'sto can can, stavolta afferma Green, s'è sforzato: "After a month of dismal campaigning, Fred looked pretty good just showing up fully dressed and speaking in complete sentences".
Ma continua a essere piatto, poco attento, a volte pare stupirsi delle sue stesse risposte. Green conclude: "I hope that the real Fred Thompson shows up at the next one (debate) – if ever."
